About Us

The Hort. Soc.

The Addingtons' Horticultural Society was formed on Wednesday 7th November 1984 with the aim of bringing together local residents having an interest in gardening. Twenty two members attended the first meeting and by 2000 numbers had increased to thirty six.

Membership is not limited to those living in Great and Little Addington, but all our Winter/Spring meetings take place in The Memorial Hall, Woodford Road, Great Addington, NN14 4BS at 2pm on the first Wednesday of the month.  The membership fee is £20 / year and visitors are asked to pay £5 / meeting.

Winter/Spring meetings take the form of a talk on horticultural related subjects by selected experts, followed by tea and a chat. In summer months the committee organise guided visits for members to gardens open to the public or opened for private visits. In November members get together for a dinner to celebrate the Society's anniversary.
